Let us tell you how it all begins…
Every journey has a first step, as for our adventure in the Black Rock Desert 2023. It takes a hundred, or even a thousand to make our vision for a Nordic Paradise come true. After a cabin weekend at Tjörn we are on our way, and soon enough we might be “there”.
Who attended the cabin weekend at Tjörn in Sweden?

How was it?
The cabin weekend was filled with cozyness, but we were also highly productive and great visionaries for the concept and gifting to the community. We have been upgrading the organisational structure and recruited about 70 % of the 20 first Leads to grow the camp organization from. The number of camp members are going to be 90 for this year, and we hope to see a snowball effect by including new motivated souls one after another.
We are thankful for the engagement, the positive vibe and the great inner motivation we see in our team. We also talked a bit about motivation, and how we want to lead and give people the opportunity to stay in an internal and positive motivation during both the planning and the execution phase of building the Nordic Paradise.
What did we finish then?
- Statement of Intent to Burning Man Org is finalised, we need to do this to get accepted and placed as a theme camp
- the Membership application updated
- Process for allocation of co-lead via selection of leads
- Allocation of leads finalised, there are a few vacancies
- Pending interviews with new members that have applied for lead roles
- Application for lead roles closes 15/1 and membership application opens at the same time. Co leads will be selected from membership applications before the end of March.
- Nordic Camp to be reborn as Nordic Paradise
- Bar concept cold brew from an art car is the vision. We will investigate the possibility of buying a food truck.
- Public area elaborated vision with high hanging shade structures with the trailer as back, all in a Nordic theme, two cooler fans etc.
- Nordic light we need experts on lights. There are a few names that we’re in contact with.
- Storage issue, we need more storage. If we buy a food truck it can serve as storage and be an art car.
- Andrea Pettersson to be point of contact aka camp lead for Burning Man as she takes lead for the team “burning man contact and organisational team”
What will happen next?
- Everyone starts populating our brand new discord server for structured conversations and chats
- Interviews will be held with some of the applicants for different lead positions
- Head hunting for a few positions not being filled yet
- A Lead-meeting will take place on the 22/1 where we will follow-up on different areas and formulate the next steps
- Memberships application will open on the 15/1. That is also where you can apply for a CO-LEAD position. (Each Lead has a co-Lead). (Link to organisational scheme)
